The third instalment of Jamie’s Southern Nomadic Weekend Away up in Canterbury’s Craigieburn Ranges was a doozy. The weather was sunny enough to restock the vitamin D supplies, windy enough to keep the sand-flies at bay and cold enough to appreciate the campfire. About perfect really.

The people were plentiful enough to meet new friends, few enough to still feel like you’re a part of something exclusive and enthusiastic enough to ride from dawn ‘til dusk. Also, about perfect really.
Mountains of mountains and mountains of beer. What else is there?
An event that once again proves that mountain biking is the great leveler. Where the fast and furious mix and ride as much with each other as they do the with attendant families with young kids.
It’s important that high performance athletes maintain a balanced diet so as not to unbalance their sun chair eh Bob?
