Kyrgyzstan sounds dangerous. It’s landlocked mountainous borders with China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan however seemingly isolate it from the rest of our crazy world. It’s like a Switzerland of Central Asia but with only an eighth of the population density. Where the sun bakes the mountains, filling rivers with snow melt, leaving alpine pastures of wild flowers and where the friendly Kyrgyz move at a slower pace of life on donkey and horseback with few cars. It’s perfect cycle touring territory.
