Carbon Carbon Carbon Carbon...Carbon Chameleon

Carbon Carbon Carbon Carbon...Carbon Chameleon

The tin lizard has ascended the evolutionary ladder and is now a fully-imagined carbon fiber creature. It’s Darwinism in action.

Santa Cruz took the fun-loving, shreddy spirit and adjustability of the beloved aluminum Chameleon but evolved it into a lighter, faster, more advanced species. It’s a do-it-all hardtail that is as happy making the most of backyard booter (mis)adventures as it is fully-loaded with camp gear and a color-matched dangle mug.

Speaking of color-matched, the custom blue Hope hubs and headset on the SE kit make this reptile stand out from the crowd.

Santa Cruz Bike Archive

Santa Cruz Bike Archive

Santa Cruz Bicycles now have an extensive Bike Archive with exploded diagrams of all parts and instructions for maintenance and replacement.

This is a pretty handy tool when bikes from the very first produced by Santa Cruz in 1994 and Juliana Bicycles in 1999 are still going strong on the trails.

We carry most parts in stock (test us on your Tazmon).

Santa Cruz Carbon Tech Manufacturing - Explained by Santa Cruz

It’s perhaps a little known fact that every Santa Cruz Bicycle to date has been through our very own factory and assembly facility in Santa Cruz, California. Each model starts life as a test “mule”, an aluminum prototype which is designed, machined and welded together here in Santa Cruz, then covertly test ridden on trails all over the place. At the same time, in the same building, our carbon test lab is refining the lay-up process we’ll be using on the finished carbon product.

Once we’re happy with how the mule rides, we release the designs for a carbon mold to be made at our exclusive manufacturing facility. We use our own facility because it’s the only way to ensure advancements made in our test lab remain proprietary
